I was born in N.Y.C. to an Italian mother and Dominican father. At an early age my family relocated to Atlantic City because of the casinos, where I would grew up practically living on the beach outside of Atlantic City. Being raised at the crossroads of three cultures, I was primarily influenced by my fathers salsa and merengue albums, my mother's Police and Billy Joel cassettes (yes, we are going back to when cassettes existed) and hip-hop.
As an adult, I had my first experiences in the music industry playing rhythm guitar in various bachata groups around the New York/New Jersey area, doing some freelance songwriting and performing occasionally around Rutgers University, my college. This was the period in which my songwriting truly blossomed - being greatly influenced by Latin American writers, namely Neruda and Garca Mrquez, in addition to singer-songwriters like Juan Luis Guerra, Dave Matthews, Man and countless other artists
In my music one can clearly hear the influence that acoustic rock, ska, bachata, and the rock latino movement have all had on me - influences that are far reaching beyond my musical sound. They are a direct reflection of the result of living a life between numerous cultures: summers spent between the crowded beaches of the Jersey shore and the Caribbean coastline; Friday nights spent drinking in a local college bar, only to be followed on Saturday by nights dancing at Latin Quarter in Manhattan; years spent in New Brunswick, N.J. as well as in Florence and Rome. All of these very unique experiences created my identity and my music, an identity and a music that are truly one of a kind. My music is not an attempt to create a new sound... it is a musical representation of who I am.
